CIYTI and VQQQ announced recalls Oct. 22 involving light-up children’s princess costumes and natural-gas patio heaters. The recalls cover about 94 costumes with accessible button batteries and about 100 heaters with components that may release gas.
Costume recall
CIYTI recalled its light-up princess costumes because button batteries can be reached by children in the crown, wand and remote control. If swallowed, button batteries can cause chemical burns inside the body, severe injury or death.
No injuries or incidents had been reported involving the costumes. They were sold through Amazon from February through June 2025 for between $21 and $35.
Consumers should remove the costumes from children’s use and contact the seller to obtain a full refund.
Patio heater recall
VQQQ recalled natural-gas patio heaters identified as models VQQQ-A1 and VQQQ-001. Components in the heaters can malfunction, potentially allowing gas to escape and creating burn and fire risks.
The company recalled about 100 heaters. No incidents or injuries had been reported. The heaters were sold through Amazon from July 2024 through August 2026 for about $346.
Owners should stop using the heaters, shut the gas supply valve and disconnect the gas hose. VQQQ is offering refunds after customers write “Recalled” on the heater base, submit a photograph and dispose of the product.
