Livingston police arrested David Lind, 78, after a reported stabbing Friday at a residence on South Third Street.

Officers responded to an assault-with-a-weapon report at 3:33 p.m. at 121 South 3rd St. A caller said one resident had stabbed another resident with a knife.

People at the scene separated Lind and the 63-year-old victim before officers arrived. Police detained Lind upon arrival and later booked him into the Park County Detention Center.

Lind was charged with assault with a weapon under Montana Code Annotated 45-5-213. Livingston Fire and Rescue paramedics treated the victim at the scene for injuries from the assault.

Police said the incident involved one victim and that there was no continuing threat to the public.
