The Montana Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights will conduct a virtual public briefing Nov. 12 on potential civil rights violations connected to diversity, equity and inclusion policies at Montana public universities.
The session, scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday on Zoom, is the third in a series examining whether university policies have produced discrimination involving federally protected characteristics, including race, religion, age and disability.
Public comment period
Members of the public may attend the briefing and offer comments. The committee will also accept written comments through Dec. 14.
Kendall Cotton, chair of the Montana Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, said the testimony will help the committee assess possible civil rights issues.
